This beautiful girl here is Tortie. She was living outside as a stray for quite some time. A kind woman began to feed her and befriended her; though it took a few months for her to trust. Tortie would greet the woman everyday and they would sit outside together. After she had eaten she would demand to be petted and brushed. Once Tortie showed she could trust people, the woman who had been caring for her knew she deserved to be in a loving home. GVAC was contacted to see if we could place her into foster care, which we did. Tortie has been in a foster home for a few weeks now and is getting used to her new environment. She is coming out and about more all the time, cuddling with foster mom on the couch and sleeping in her bed.

Tortie was a complete snuggle bunny when she was a stray, so we know that she will be a great pet for someone! Tortie loves to talk, she loves attention, and she absolutely loves to be petted and brushed. She has a great personality! We do think that she would be happiest in a home with no children or other pets. She is afraid of other cats as she always ran away and hid from any cat that came near her while she was living outside as a stray.

Tortie has been spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

If you would like to adopt Tortie, please email us at info@animalcrusaders.ca

Meet Jasmine, or Jazzy girl, as foster mom likes to call her! Jasmine is a sweet 7 month old kitten who is looking for her forever home. Jasmine was found living outdoors, and was pretty darned frightened when she first came into foster care. However, she has absolutely blossomed into a sweet and loving girl. She is very playful, and loves to hide behind the bedskirt and grab foster mom’s feet as she walks by! She is an absolute cuddle bug at night too, and loves to visit foster mom by her pillow and give your cheek a lick or five. Other times, she is happy to cuddle up on her chest or by foster mom’s side and snooze away. And Jazzy knows exactly when lunch is being made in the morning, and will show up instantly for a piece of turkey or ham. Who could resist that face? Jasmine gets along very well with other cats, but would also do well on her own, as she bonds quite nicely with her person. Jazzy is is spayed, defleaed, dewormed, and has tested negative for Fe Leuk and FIV. She would make a wonderful addition to almost any home, but small children would be a bit much for Jasmine. If you’d like to meet this darling girl, please email info@animalcrusaders.ca

Meet Ronin. He was brought to the Animal Crusaders as a feral cat needing to be fixed and re-released. It soon became clear, however, that this boy was a tame kitty who had obviously been abandoned at some point in his life. However, he is very happy to have a home again and is making friends with the resident cats (he has even managed to charm Miss Millie – see above)! Ronin is only about a year old, and is now neutered. He is still very playful and is a very sweet boy, though can be a tad skittish at times (this, no doubt from his time fending for himself outdoors). Most of the time though, he is quick to seek out attention from foster mom, and is curled up by her side as she types this bio! Ronin is a very affectionate boy, and would do extremely well in a house with other cats, as he loved his feline roomies on sight! Ronin would likely do best in a home without small children. He has impeccable litterbox habits as well! He has been neutered, deflead, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia.

If you think you can give Ronin his happy ending, please email gvac@shaw.ca

Molly (tabby) and Maggie (black) are two kittens who were living out in the wild until they were trapped by someone who volunteers time to care for some of the numerous abandoned/stray and feral cats in the area.
They started out domestic life very frightened of people but have come a long way during their time spent in foster care. Molly is a little more outgoing than Maggie, but both are very sweet little kitties. These two sister truly do love each other and play and groom each other every day and we hope that they can find a home together. Molly and Maggie are also very comfortable around large friendly dogs as they are quite used to the ones in their current foster home. They both enjoy following their foster mom around and weaving around her legs as she’s trying to get stuff done, but she doesn’t mind! They are both so cute and sweet. They have become much more friendly lately and are really blossoming and becoming wonderful house-cats under the care of their fantastic foster mom! Molly and Maggie were born around mid-late August, and are now ready to go to their new homes. They have been spayed, treated for fleas and worms, received both sets of vaccinations, and are FIV/FeLV negative.

Nice to meet you.
I’ve been in the care of a loving foster home for 7 months now, and my stunning & fabulous self has totally been unveilled. Anyone can see that I am a regal creature but what you can’t see is that I have a witty sense of humor and am quite a smarty pants. True, I can be rather coy but I also have a magnificent rumble of a purr which I will dole out by your feet in the kitchen or while chilling on the living room sofa. I’m ever so inquisitive and due to my sleek, fit physique I bound around exploring my house imagining I am on stage at a Cirque du Sadie show. Taaa daaa! You can laugh at me, I don’t take myself too seriously. Please ask for me by name.
Will the real Slim Sadie please stand up?

Sadie was born around mid-May and is a healthy young girl. She has been spayed, dewormed, deflead, fully-vaccinated, and tested negative for both FIV and FeLV.

She is fine to be around other cats and kittens, and would love nothing more than to have a home she could call her own. She just needs a lot of love, patience, and understanding due to her condition; but she will reward you with tons of love and affection in return.

This darling little kitten was originally diagnosed with a very small colon, which the vet believed was a birth defect and suggested surgery. She was going to be euthanized due to this issues, so GVAC took her in for a second look and the vet started her on lactulose. Suki improved quite quickly with taking the lactulose regularly and began going to the bathroom on her own with no real problems passing anything. She is already doing better since she came under the care if GVAC, though her condition is still not 100% sorted out. She had been crying in pain when she was first diagnosed as she was unable to to to the bathroom at all. Since she has been in our care, this has not been an issue, though trying to get her bowel movements in the litter box everytime has been.

We have weaned Suki off the lactulose and she continues to eat dry food and wet food and is able to pass things through on her own. However; Suki is still a bit spastic with her bowel movements, so doesn’t always get things in the litter box. Hopefully, as she continues to grow, the problem will eventually correct itself. We do not think she will require surgery as things have been improving on their own so far. She is not taking any medications at all anymore and we are continuing to work towards getting her litter box habits more positive.

Suki was born on July 25th and has been spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
