Georgia was picked up as a stray. She is a 6 month old mixed breed who will grow to a medium size adult. She is learning basic commands and leash walking quickly. Georgia is a little shy and can be fearful of new things however, she is coming around nicely. She is currently fostered with two dogs and two cats. She likes to chase the cats but when they stand up to her she stops. Once she grows used to cats I think she would be ok living in a home with dog experienced cats.

She is almost housebroken so her new home will need to continue to work on that with her.

Georgia is a sweet girl who needs lots of love and attention in her forever home.

Georgia is dewormed/deflead and has all of her vaccinations updated. Her adoption fee will include spay. If you are interested in adopting Georgia please fill out an application here: GVAC Dog adoption form

Meet Gin Gin, an orange cat approximately 8 years old.

I love to go outside and I love to hunt. I am very friendly and gentle. After spending some time getting to know you and learning about my environment, I’ll like to go out in the morning and stay out most of the day, but I’ll come home to eat and I’ll always sleep inside at night. In particular I love cuddling on my humans bed:) I am a sucker for attention and will soak up all the love I can get, I also love to be groomed! I am looking for the perfect indoor outdoor home where I can hang out in a safe backyard( preferably fenced!) in a quiet neighborhood where I am safe from traffic!

Gin Gin has been neutered, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt GinGin please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

You can also come to visit Gin Gin at Bosley’s at the Royal Oak shopping mall, 4478 West Saanich Rd , (250) 744-1125

Update May 15, 2012:

Moury is a calm, wonderful cat who is just looking for his own happily ever after. This is what his foster home has to say about him:

Moury is amazing. A senior, 10+ who has had a pretty rough time of it. Throughout it all, he purrs and just wants to with you. He had a full dental, so you wont’ have to worry about his teeth. He follows you like a small dog, chirps a little and just wants you to pet and love him. He isn’t really vocal, just a little chirpy. Super cute. He purrs at a touch and is calm and just hangs out. Moury loves to eat, and certainly shows his appreciation when you feed him. He has funny little things he does, like instead of drinking water he puts his paw in and licks it off. He sleeps right beside me and Moury is very dog savvy, I have a 70 lb lab who didn’t even phase him the first time he met him. He hangs out with the dog and rubs up against her.

Whoever adopts Moury will have a friend for life. Everyone who meets him loves him. Are you his happily ever after?

Update April 17, 2012:

Dr. Lee at the Capital Cat Clinic has found that our sweet Moury has painful severe and painful dental disease, so he will need to have some teeth pulled. Once he is all fixed up, he will be pain free! We’ll keep updating on his health as he gets more & more healthy in our care.

Extremely handsome 8 yr. old Burmese male seeks kind and intelligent forever mate. I do not care so much for walks on the beach but quiet evenings at home with a decent brandy and contemporary music suits me fine. You would have the financial means to dine me in the quality I am used to and provide for my every whim. I will reward you with my exceptional personality and ability for long term commitment.

If you give me your love and attention I will lovingly dote on you forever!. If you think I may be the one you have longed to share your life with please fill out an application for me here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

Update May 2, 2012:

Sid is no longer a kitten, he is a healthy year old boy now. We aren’t sure why he is still in foster care – he is such a sweetheart and deserves to find a forever home.

Update from Sid’s foster mom on April 3, 2012:

He is a huge softy and will roll over the minute he sees you. He also makes cute purr noises (like Gizmo from Gremlins) and snorts! He is not a big fan of being picked up, but will gladly jump on your lap and fall asleep.

Sid & Nancy came into GVAC’s care from the CRD. They were from a litter of kittens that someone had found on their property. They needed to be socialized and have a warm place to be kittens again, so their foster mom and dad, Taylor & Dale took them in. Sid is still skittish, but is learning to enjoy playing and being petted by humans. Every day he makes progress and his foster parents feel that he is ready for adoption. He will need patience and loving care to help him continue to come out of his shell.

Update from Sid & Nancy’s foster mom on November 21, 2011:

Sid is still a bit shy and he does like to swat at your hand and curiously nibble it.

Tonight they were both curling onto their sides like kittens trying to entice your hand to pet them before they playfully attack and allowed me to pet their backs

Sid has been neutered, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Sid please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

Update May 2, 2012:

Nancy is no longer a kitten, she is now 1 year old. We aren’t sure why she, or her brother Sid, are not adopted yet, but hopefully some kind person will see this posting and choose to adopt Nancy and give her the forever home that she deserves.

From Nancy’s foster mom on April 3, 2012:

Nancy is a stealthy little kitty who prefers smaller rooms. Once you get her in one she opens up and gives a cute meow to grab your attention for pets! She is easy to pick up and SUPER soft. She needs a bit of time, but when she comes around she is very sweet

Sid & Nancy came into GVAC’s care from the CRD. They were from a litter of kittens that someone had found on their property. They needed to be socialized and have a warm place to be kittens again, so their foster mom and dad, Taylor & Dale took them in. Nancy is still skittish, but is learning to enjoy playing and being petted by humans and she has come along a bit further than Sid at this point. Every day she makes progress and her foster parents feel that she is ready for adoption. She will need patience and loving care to help her continue to come out of her shell.

Update from Sid & Nancy’s foster mom on November 21, 2011:

Nancy likes pets but still leans away sometimes until she realizes that you’re just being nice.

Tonight they were both curling onto their sides like kittens trying to entice your hand to pet them before they playfully attack and allowed me to pet their backs.

Nancy has been spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Nancy, please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

Meet Little Grey! She is a very sweet 7 month old kitten who once was feral but has come a VERY long way. She is now quite the social little girl and is looking for her forever home. Little Grey grew up in her mom’s foster care with two other cats and three ferrets so she is well socialized when it comes to other animals but is still a little shy around people. She is very cuddly with her foster mom and other woman but it takes her a little while to get used to new visitors and men. Grey would be best suited to a home with other cats and no children as loud noises do startle her. She is a bit of a raspy breather at times due to some scar tissue in her lungs but the veterinarian assures us that she is in perfect health! She is not a fan of being picked up or being approached quickly but if you sit down and hold out your hand, she will come to you for a nice bum scratch and snuggles. If you have time and patience for this little princess she would be an amazing companion for you!

Cael is an 8 year old mixed husky type breed. His parents did not have enough time for him anymore so we took him on to hopefully find his forever home.

Here is some information about Cael from his foster mom:

Cael is such a sweet boy!

Cael’s biggest challenge is his excitement level when people come to the door, as he barks his fool-head off! But he is starting to learn that he has to “ssh” when he is told, or he will get put in another room and not get to see who arrived. He gets so excited when he gets to go for a walk, that he jumps around and barks so much that we weren’t able to get the leash on. Now we can tell him “sit” and he almost stays sitting long enough, but once we get out the door he is very calm. He also barks when he knows it is meal times, but he is slowly learning that if he barks excessively before dinner is served it goes back in the fridge. Every few minutes we take the bowl out to give it to him, and repeat the process. He is starting to get it – we are down to two “woofs”! Not bad for a historically vocal husky breed.

In essence, Cael is very sweet with all people and all dogs. He is very trainable, and willing to listen once he knows what the rules are, and the expectations are consistent. As a bonus, he is very good in the tub & with getting his nails done.

Cael is dewormed/deflead and has all of his vaccinations updated. His adoption fee will include neutering. If you are interested in adopting Cael please fill out an application here: GVAC Dog adoption form

Update April 2, 2012

Thought you would enjoy seeing, she loves her chair… Sitting on top of it watching the birds out the window too… Plus, she LOVES chasing ribbons…

Update – February 24th, 2012:

Silken has gone into foster care and is absolutely blossoming! She follows her foster Mom & Dad everywhere, talking to them. She is very affectionate with them and sleeps on the bed. More updates to follow on her progress!

Update – February 5th, 2012:

Some expert Siamese cat folks have let us know that Silken is what is called a Siamese Applehead breed. Apparently this type of Siamese is very desirable to folks. We’ve also found that she really loves wet food. She will definitely need wet food as her main diet staple in her adoptive home. She has also come along really well at Petsmart, she has

Silken is a beautiful Siamese cat of 8 years young. She came into care with GVAC after her owner passed away. Silken exhibits all the usual traits of a typical Siamese cat, so her new family would have to be savvy to the exotic ways of the Siamese!

Silken has never been around children and does not seem to like other animals. She will be best suited to a home where she can be the queen of the entire domain with only adult humans to reign over. She is a little shy at first, but will warm up to you in no time.

Silken has been spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Silken, please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca
