“The Second Annual Clothesline Show” and “Coast Collective Festival of Animals”
Two Great events in one!  Sunday, August 15th, 10am-4pm

Imagine acres of art, strung between the trees, propped on logs, nestled into tents, all beside a beautiful blue lagoon.  Imagine watching artists at work.  Imagine live music, food, beer and wine, and more on the beautiful grounds of the Coast Collective. Imagine being part of it all.

Whether you’d like to display your work (see attached application form), paint on the grounds this day or view the spectacle, come join dozens of artists and hundreds of visitors for this fun-filled day,  August 15, 2010.

Festival of Animals
As a complement to the “Critters and Creatures” Art Show in our Gallery, we’re holding a Festival of Animals on the grounds of the Coast Collective on August 15.  Animal rescue and support groups will have informational displays scattered across the Coast Collective grounds, including:  SPCA Wild Arc, Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders, Alternative Wildlife Solutions, Victoria Lost Pets, Victoria Adoptables, Cats Cradle Animal Rescue and more.  If you love animals, come learn more about how to help them from fellow animal-lovers.

A very special thank you goes out to the following volunteers, who worked hard on the night of the event even though they purchased their own dinner tickets, as did the board members:

Jeff, Kelly, Joyce, Kirsten, Brian, Lara, Sebastian, Cindy, Marguerite, Thomas, Sylvia and our MC Steve.  We could not have done it without you!

Goldstream Station Market – June – October, 2009

GVAC was at the Goldstream Station Market in Langford on Saturdays from 10am until 2pm. We sold hand made items created by our volunteers, got the word out about GVAC and met all kinds of wonderful new people who donated items and shared stories with us.  Together, we raised over $800!

Glen Lake “Show & Shine” – August 22, 2009 – 10am – 3pm

The Show & Shine went incredibly well and was so much fun!  Thank you to volunteers from GVAC and a very special thank you to Randy Dumaresq for coordinating the event and having GVAC as this year’s charity.  And another big thank you to Chantelle’s father-in-law for donating and printing up a lot of GVAC branded items for us to sell at the tent – we sold out of almost everything!

We raised over $1265 for GVAC that day!!

Goldstream Nature House – the Dog Days of Summer – August 2-3, 2009

The Dog Days of Summer went extremely well with our VP, Erin Skillen, her husband Jeff and their dogs Coal & Abby representing GVAC on Saturday to put the word out about what GVAC does and how we help in our community.  The coolest part was when the wonderful Coal won a prize for the longest tail!  Congratulations to Coal and a special thank you to Jeff for donating his & Coal’s prize back to GVAC!  Board members Lynn & Chantelle represented GVAC on Sunday to help spread the word about helping stray animals and care for pets.

We raised $83 for GVAC that day but even more, important,  it was an amazing chance to connect with our community!
