Gordo a.k.a Gordito is a sweet, social cat. He’ll happily follow you around, greet you in the morning when you get up or at the door when you come home. He is definitely food driven and enjoys keeping a constant watch over the kitchen, especially if someone is in the kitchen. In the right home, he could even be taught to do a few tricks as he’ll do just about anything for food. He doesn’t bite or scratch, he actually isn’t sure what to do with a scratching post. He tends to only jump on furniture if he thinks there’s food up there. He gets excited and meows and purrs when there’s food around, be it yours or his. He enjoys a good head scratch, to curl up on a chair and doze, doesn’t mind being picked up for a short cuddle, and will happily play a game of chase as long as there’s food involved.
He is great about having his diabetes monitored and having his insulin injections. Right now he gets his shot with breakfast and dinner and doesn’t seem to notice as he’s too busy eating (which sounds a bit like “yum-yum-yum-yum” really quickly).
Gordito will be happy in a home that can make the commitment to help him regulate his diabetes with medication and a good diet. He’ll love a home where he has humans to cuddle and play with and a kitchen all to himself.
Gordo will need a home willing to keep his diabetes under control by giving him regular insulin shots and monitoring his condition. Are you that special home Gordo needs? Perhaps there is someone out there who shares Gordo’s condition or perhaps someone has a child who is diabetic and could learn from Gordo that needles aren’t so bad if they help to make you feel better!
