Update – February 5th, 2012:

Some expert Siamese cat folks have let us know that Silken is what is called a Siamese Applehead breed. Apparently this type of Siamese is very desirable to folks. We’ve also found that she really loves wet food. She will definitely need wet food as her main diet staple in her adoptive home. She has also come along really well at Petsmart, she has

Silken is a beautiful Siamese cat of 8 years young. She came into care with GVAC after her owner passed away. Silken exhibits all the usual traits of a typical Siamese cat, so her new family would have to be savvy to the exotic ways of the Siamese!

Silken has never been around children and does not seem to like other animals. She will be best suited to a home where she can be the queen of the entire domain with only adult humans to reign over. She is a little shy at first, but will warm up to you in no time.

Silken has been spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Silken, please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

If you are interested in adopting me, you can visit me at Petsmart in Millstream Village

Hi there:

My name is Molly and I am around 7 years old. My owner adopted me after my 4 kittens were born in 2005. I am a very loving, social, gentle, adorable cat with a great personality.

My fur is so soft and my tail is large and fluffy. You can expect me to be shy at first but in no time I will be loving your attention. If you have a sundeck for me to play on and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, that would be perfect. I have all my gear to go along with me such as a carrying case, litter box, bed, my alpine scratcher, dishes, brush, toys etc.

My owner needs to give me away to a home where I will be loved. Love and companionship is a given for my new owner or owners for many years to come.

Thank you for reading my bio.

Love ….Molly

Molly is spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Molly, please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

Sapphire is not only strikingly beautiful with her blue eyes she is also well aware of this and expects your undying love and admiration.

Before she came into care with GVAC, she had not been groomed properly and unfortunately the vet had to cut off her full coat to remove the mass of mats that had caused her considerable discomfort for some time. She danced like a ballerina after that and is quite proud of her new do. She has a delightful and quirky personality, definitely not just another pretty face!

Lita, also a beautiful long haired Calico is the quiet one of the two and prefers to bask in her sisters shadow. She is extremely loving and would be a permanent fixture in a nice soft lap.

Both girls require regular grooming to keep their beautiful coats in pristine condition. Sapphire and Lita are bonded sisters would be best suited for a quiet household since they are both nervous and sensitive to loud noises. They do not exhibit the sometimes usual Calico trait of aloofness but instead seem to really crave and enjoy human company.

Lita & Sapphire are spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and both tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Lita & Sapphire please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

We know that there are folks out there who will open their hearts and take in an older cat who needs a quiet home to live out the rest of his life in a safe, loving environment and, finally, where he will never have to be afraid or be hurt again.

Update – Moury is now up for adoption!

They were returned to GVAC after being adopted out to the same family. They are healthy and happy. The foster home says that they both need time to trust, but after just 2 weeks, they come out and purr and rub and knead. You can actually hear Loki purring under the bed. He is a big orange tabby with a little stubby tail. Darby has come out and lies on the bed with you and will purr and be very content if you pet and rub his face. He is easily brought out now with Temptations. Both these boys are friendly but just a bit nervous. They haven’t met the lab/shepard down stairs yet, but they grew up with 2 big dogs, so I am pretty confident they will be fine. If you adopt these boys you will get a lifetime of purring and loving. Can you find it in your heart and your home to give these boys another chance at a happily ever after?

Darby & Loki have both been neutered, fully vaccinated, treated for worms and fleas, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Laverne, please fill out our application here:GVAC Cat Adoption Form or you can email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

Meet Ben. Ben was previously adopted out, but has come back into our care as he is quite rough and tumble when he plays with the other cats. So, we now have him back and we must now say that Ben would do best as an only cat…. unless you have a cat that likes to roughhouse and play hard like he does. Ben is a very social boy and is now coming up close to 2 years old! He’s very friendly, outgoing, good with kids, but just not so great with other cats. He could probably do okay with a dog if introduced properly. Ben absolutely loves to be around people and really thrives on attention from them, so any home wanting to adopt Ben must be willing to love him lots and pay attention to him!!

Ben is neutered, fully vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and has been treated for worms and fleas. If you would like to adopt Ben, please fill out our application here: GVAC Cat Adoption Formor email us for more information: info@animalcrusaders.ca

Simba Update – September, 2011

Simba is a big lynx point Siamese X Long hair with blue eyes and a very easy-going nature. A gentle cat who is more interested in being petted than chasing things and playing, Simba doesn’t need much to be happy, except for insulin, thanks to his diabetes.

To stay healthy, Simba needs an injection twice a day and diabetic food. Both of these things are affordable for most people, and his amazing personality more than makes up for the extra bit of care required. His diabetes has been under steady control for over a year, and in terms of behavior and spirit he’s no different than any other cat. He has a lovely foster home, but would like to find a permanent home somewhere where he could have lots of company.

If you are interested in adopting SImba, you can see more of him on his youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/KittyCatDiabetes. GVAC is still supporting him, so you can also make a donation to help keep him in needles and insulin, food and vet care.

Lola is the sweetest little cat. She never stops purring and she’s teeny tiny (almost like a kitten), with big whiskers and a super fluffy tail. Her fur is long, but doesn’t mat without brushing, and extremely soft.

She was born to a feral mom in Sooke. but a volunteer rescued her. She’s still very shy around new people, but she takes fairly quickly to other cats and dogs. She prefers to spend most of her time curled up on her own or playing with her furry friends, but she’ll let her foster mom hold her and pet her and is starting to get more daring about jumping onto the couch or bed when someone’s there. She loves cat treats and chasing toys around the apartment.

She can still be skittish at times so a quieter home without small children would be best for her. She would do best either in a home where she gets lots of one-on-one attention from people or where there are other cats or cat-friendly dogs for her to play with. Gaining her trust and affection takes some time, but is worth every effort as she is such a loving girl when she finally bonds with you.

Lola was born approx mid-August 2009 and has been dewormed, deflead, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLv and has been spayed.
