Thank you to Glenda at Whisker’s Urban Ranch Pet Daycamp

Glenda at Whisker’s Urban Ranch Pet Daycamp is a major sponsor and supporter for GVAC and we just wanted to post a huge THANK YOU for everything you do for the animals!

Glenda fosters both dogs & cats for us and recently helped Louie the dog who was in terribly rough shape when he arrived at her doorstep. Louie has been adopted into his forever home and by the time he left Glenda’s care he looked and acted like completely different dog.

Thank you for everything you do for the animals, Glenda and staff!!!

Please visit them at  www.whiskersurbanranch.com to see what they are all about – we highly recommend this daycare!

Art pieces donated for the auction from Susan Baker!

Today’s Donations

A huge thank you to Pat and her friends for making all the gorgeous quilts, quilted wall hanging, wool snowmen, wool catnip mice, gortex dog jackets, handmade pet pillow with embroidery and handcarved wooden pizza paddle.

Your generosity is so appreciated!

Has anyone noticed our new website?

The wonderfully talented mistress of understated humour, Lara Eichhorn at www.laraeichhorn.com, donated her time and skills to design our new website.

Our most debonaire maniacal genius, Jeff Skillen of JetDog Solutions at www.jetdog.ca, is our new website host.

Jeff & Lara are both amazing supporters/fosters/volunteers/members of GVAC and I really just wanted to give a shout-out and thank you to the both of them for everything they’ve done for us these past few months.

Volunteers needed for GVAC phone lines

GVAC needs volunteers to assist with answering our phone lines.  People call us each day for assistance with spaying and neutering, vet visits for low-income families with pets, adoption inquiries and other inquiries.  Phone Line Volunteers do two-week shifts, of approximately 30-90 minutes per day, depending on call volume.  All calls go to voicemail, which the volunteer accesses and then returns the calls.

This is an important part of our operations and volunteers are greatly needed.  Volunteers would be provided with detailed information and have access to phone line veterans who can help with tough questions.  Volunteers would need to get up to speed on GVAC policies and procedures.

This volunteering opportunity is best-suited for those who have excellent people skills and can handle difficult people in a compassionate, yet firm, manner.

If you have any questions or would like further info, please contact us at gvac@shaw.ca and we will get back to you asap.  Thank you!
