the GVAC board

Meet Isabelle, she is a kitten who was born outdoors, with her four siblings, and rescued by me (Lynn). I am one of the GVAC Board members, and I also foster for GVAC and have done so for many years. It is very rewarding, and tons of fun. And that is how Isabelle came into my life. She was the runt of the litter, and it soon became obvious that Izzy was different from her siblings. She had trouble learning to use the litterbox. She would get stuck behind doors, and couldn’t figure out how to get out. She would walk backwards. Rather unusual behaviour. The vet diagnosed brain damage, likely occurring during birth. However, she was happy and healthy, albeit very small.
I was pretty sure that Izzy was unadoptable, and was prepared to keep her with me. After all, I loved her already. However, one day, when Izzy was about 6 months old, in walked Lara, who also happens to be our website designer! She fell in love with Izzy, and was determined to adopt her, and was not deterred by her unusual behaviour and spotty record with using the litterbox.
Now, here is Izzy, two years old and living with her mom, Lara, and her “brother” Freddie (also a GVAC kitten). Izzy does have her moments of … ah… confusion, but is otherwise a happy and healthy cat. And Lara provides us with many funny stories about Izzy’s antics. And lots of funny pictures. Stay tuned!
