Rocky is a four month old shih-tzu/terrier mix (we think!) with an adorable underbite. He went into foster care when his family was at risk for being evicted for having a dog. Rocky is a very mellow, easy-going pup. He can be a little shy at first, but after a short warming-up period, he gets along great with people of all ages, especially children. Rocky has not had much exposure to other animals, so he tends to be a little timid when first meeting them. With a little time and patience, Rocky will make friends with everyone.
He sleeps on his own at night, with only the occasional accident. His daytime house-training is really coming along, but he will need some help when it comes to reminding him to go. Though generally a quiet dog, Rocky will let his people know if there is someone at the door. Rocky will sit for a treat, and comes to his name when called. He also walks very well on a leash – so smart for such a young puppy!
The best part of Rocky’s day is cuddle-time. He will stretch out on a lap or tummy for rubs, gently licking your hand while you pet him. Rocky also loves to go out exploring in the back yard & out on walks.
Rocky has had his first set of vaccinations as well as having been dewormed at the vet. He is scheduled for his second round of shots in mid-September. Rocky will need to be neutered at the age of six months (which will be covered by the adoption fee). If you would like to adopt Rocky, please email us at info@animalcrusaders.ca
