Courtesy Post for Mercedes Benz – this sweet, quirky girl is needing a new home because her mom of 10 years has had a job change which entails a lot of travel, and this is making poor Miss Benz very unhappy.  If you are able to provide a new home and open your heart to this sweetheart, please contact us at info@animalcrusaders.ca and we will forward your inquiry along to her.  Here is what her mom has to say about her:

Name: Mercedes Benz, but goes by/responds to Benz or Benners

Pure white (not deaf), medium hair, sheds a fair bit. Is mitigated slightly by brushing. Brushing 1x/week is necessary to keep mats from forming. She *loves* being brushed – I have two brushes that will come with her. As soon as you pull them out – she will run up to you, meow, prance around and wait for the grooming – just loves it.

No particular breed – just a mix. A little hefty at about 14lbs, but in good health. No issues with ears/eyes/teeth and she is spayed and tattooed.

Indoor ONLY. **This is a must**.

Food – Organix Chicken (dry food) found at A Pet’s Life.

Spent first 4 years of her life with a dog (started as a 15lb puppy and grew to 125lbs). She is accustomed to dogs and could be integrated with one.  She used to snuggle up with the dog too, so I think she likes the companionship.

Other cats are likely a no, however.

Likes to be near you when you’re home. She’ll sit on the opposite side of the couch (not a lap cat) or near by on the floor.

Will come when called. Especially in a higher-toned, ‘sweet’ voice and she still “plays” and has ample energy.

If you let her she will crawl under the covers in your bed when you go to sleep and lay there for a few minutes before going on her way.

If you happen to take a bath, she will come in, jump up, and sit on the edge of the tub, purring. Does not like getting wet though!  She also LOVES her scratching post.

I will include a couple of toys she has taken to and enjoys playing with – a little tiny stuffed toy she’ll paw around on occasion & a scratching ‘sock’ that you can refill with catnip and she’ll sleep on, play with, scratch at, etc.

She loves catnip. I give her the dried stuff – a pinch at a time – very infrequently. It’s very much a “treat” for her.

She is very social – loves to brush up against new people to try for their attention. Loves to be petted by anyone!

If there’s any specific questions, I can certainly answer them. She is a very fun cat and will be a treat for the right family/person. I’m very open to doing whatever it takes to make the transition easiest.
