I’m Slim Sadie.. yes, I’m the real Sadie…
Nice to meet you.
I’ve been in the care of a loving foster home for a whole year now! My stunning & fabulous self has totally been unveilled. Anyone can see that I am a regal creature but what you can’t see is that I have a witty sense of humor and am quite a smarty pants. True, I can be rather coy but I also have a magnificent rumble of a purr which I will dole out by your feet in the kitchen or while chilling on the living room sofa. I’m ever so inquisitive and due to my sleek, fit physique I bound around exploring my house imagining I am on stage at a Cirque du Sadie show. Taaa daaa! You can laugh at me, I don’t take myself too seriously. Please ask for me by name.
Will the real Slim Sadie please stand up?
Sadie was born middle of May, 2009 and is a healthy young girl. She has been spayed, dewormed, deflead, fully-vaccinated, and tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. Please don’t overlook this gorgeous girl…. after all, black cats are good luck! If you would like to adopt Sadie, please email us at info@animalcrusaders.ca

Suki is a very playful and inquisitive little girl. She’s a very sweet and friendly cat, loves new people and exploring new places. She really loves to get as much attention as she can - she wants nothing more than to be near you all the time! She is fine to be around other cats and kittens, and would love nothing more than to have a home she could call her own. She just needs a lot of love, patience, and understanding due to her behaviour; but she will reward you with tons of love and affection in return.
This darling little kitten was originally diagnosed with a very small colon, which the vet believed was a birth defect and suggested surgery. She was going to be euthanized due to this issues, so GVAC took her in for a second look and the vet started her on lactulose. Suki improved quite quickly with taking the lactulose regularly and began going to the bathroom on her own with no real problems passing anything. She had been crying in pain when she was first diagnosed as she was unable to to to the bathroom at all. Since she has been in our care, this has not been an issue, though trying to get her bowel movements in the litter box everytime has been. Suki has decided that the bathtub is where she is supposed to go to the bathroom. We have tried sprays, different types of litter, putting litter boxes in the bathtub, pheremones, everything we can think of to encourage her to use the litter box. Nope, absolutely not. She will use it if she is kennelled, but we cannot keep her in a cage for the rest of her life. She doesn’t go anywhere else, ever! Not on the floor, or the furniture, or the counters…. just in the bathtub. It’s certainly not ideal, but at least she is going somewhere it is very easy to clean up after.
Suki was born on July 25th, 2009 and has been spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, deflead, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you would like to adopt Suki, please email us at info@animalcrusaders.ca

Petey’s foster mom has decided it would be best for Petey to stay in care to live out the rest of his life. He is happy and loved there and GVAC will continue to pay for any of his medical needs.

Cesar is a neutered 1 yr old mastiff x. He came in as a stray from the CRD pound.
Cesar needs to go to a home without other dogs unless female, no cats and no small children. He is a happy boy but can be overbearing and hyper. He may knock small children over and chase cats. He gets along well with most dogs at his foster home and is well socialized with people. Since he so large and playful, he requires somebody who will be consistent with his training and can handle him as he is very strong. He loves water and is eager to learn. He could possibly be a great competitive obedience dog as he is so willing to work and please his owner. Cesar is a high energy boy who needs lots of exercise and playtime. He is very sweet and loveable and will make a great companion for somebody willing to put the time in for him.
Cesar has had a professional behaviour assessment completed and the results are as follows:
Cesar is a young, confident adolescent Mastiff X looking for a new home. The ideal home for Cesar is one with active, large breed experienced owners. If frequenting the dog park is your thing – Cesar is not the guy for you. Cesar plays appropriately with most dogs however, he will take on male dogs that challenge him. Pretty typical of teenage boys but this isn’t a behaviour we want him practicing! Cesar reportedly shows an unhealthy interest in cats so a home with no cats, small furry creatures or livestock is a must.
A big plus for Cesar is that he is an absolutely sweet with people. He exhibits no body handling issues and loves nothing more than to have his belly rubbed. Because of his size and zest for life though, a home with no small children is essential. He has good obedience skills and is a very willing worker. He responds incredibly well to reward based training and would do well in rally, obedience or tracking. I wouldn’t recommend agility due to his size/build. He has reportedly displayed some leash reactivity towards other dogs – with additional training I believe this will be easily resolved. Ideally Cesar will be the only dog in his new home. He could likely live peacefully with a large breed female dog [this would be assessed by our trainer]. He is an active boy so will need an active owner[s] to take him swimming, hiking, mountain biking etc. Continued training is also a must for this guy to get him through his teenage period.
